It's A Boy... Jesus Is Born

A Thought To Ponder

How Excited Are You When You Hear of A Baby Announcement?

Consider this, an angel from above appears before you in the privacy of your house to tell you God will be sending a new born baby whom will save the World one day.

Just think about how much your life would change in an instant.

Think of this from Joseph's perspective.

First, you ponder if what just happened really occurred or were you imagining it.

Then you think wait, this did happen, but how? No, let's move past how, to why?  Why would God choose my fiance' to be the honored mother of the Holy Spirit?

Oh no, better than that, what are the towns people going to say since we are not married?  We are going to have to talk about getting married earlier than expected so to keep her reputation in tact.  I can't let the towns people think poorly of my precious Mary. I love her to much to let that happen.

Okay, so this is my plan. I need to go to her and ask if an angel appeared and if it did, then I will tell her of my experience and will have to discuss our future plans together.

Wow my life just changed before my eyes.  The rush of emotions just overwhelmed me. I must get to Mary as I can only imagine what she must be feeling.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.  Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.  And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:  “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”
Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife,  and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.       Matthew 1:18-25 (NKJV)

Joseph and Mary did get married and the day of Jesus' birth finally arrived. How exciting it must have been to hold their precious new born baby for the first time.  The love they experienced would have been equivalent to what we experience today, but with a huge difference.  This was the Son of God and not of man.  They knew one day this precious baby would save the World.

As we go into this Christmas Season it is my desire that you look to this story in a new light. Look at it from the love of a husband or wife and as a father or mother.  How would you have felt had God chosen you to be the parents of His chosen Son? It completely sheds a new light on the Reason for the Season this year.
