I have supper completed for my family which is a huge burden lifted from my day.
Are there any of you who struggle with the time and energy on a busy school day to get supper done at the end of the day? I know for us, Friday seems to be the busiest day of the week. I am not sure why because we have activities Tuesday – Friday, but Friday is my hardest meal preparing day of the whole week. I have been experimenting with a trick this past month that I have found is working for me and so I'm going to share it with you as well.
I have found that if I make our supper in the morning then I am free from the prep time at the end of the day for our supper meal. We often eat home made from scratch pizza on Fridays. I make the pizza in the morning and then all I have to do at the end of the day is warm it back up in the oven when I get home. No mess, no prep time for cooking, and little clean up as well. You can’t beat that for a quick Friday night supper if you just plan in advance. I have also found that if I have a busy weekend and know I will be too tired to cook then I can make those meals in advance as well and just eat those as left overs. No prep time or clean up for them either.
I hope this helps to encourage you that not every busy night needs to be a peanut butter sandwich or eatting out. It just takes the forthought to prepare in advance.

ReplyDeleteYum! Looks good - we'll have to try that!
ReplyDeleteHey Sara, I researched your post and discovered you appear to be in my area. You mentioned the Botanical Gardens down the road. You wouldn't happen to be in the CCH group in Ches...? I purposely left the specifics of everything I stated for safety. I am curious if we were possibly letterboxing buddies?
DeleteToo cool. I will follow your blog too then. :) we will have to touch base again and get caught back up. Not sure if you are still doing it or not, but my kiddo wanted to go back to park days instead of letterboxing.
DeleteHey there! Yep! That's me!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I was so glad to find your blog (from your yahoo mention)! We have been a tad hectic and haven't made it to park day or letter boxing. I finally succombed to FB again - Getthe Garners so you might see me there too!
