Looking For An Easy Sub Roll or French Baguette?

Try This Amazing Recipe

Are you looking for a delicious bread to go with your supper tonight or a sub roll to go with your lunch today?

This is one of my favorite recipes that I go to and did just this morning.  It is an easy recipe with few ingredients and into the bread machine it goes.

I have always tweaked my recipe by adding ground flax seed, herbs (which I did just this morning) or anything your heart wishes.

What's For Supper???

I am feeling energetic today so I am going to make 2 meals today to make tomorrow easier.  Do any of you ever do this?  If I am going to run my oven, then I will make the best of it being on and maximize my meals.

Today I will be making shepards pie with homemade corn bread.

Tomorrow will be making beef tips and gravy with butter noodles (which I will make these tomorrow) and green beans from the garden. I will be making buttermilk biscuits today for this meal.

I need to make some bread as I am running low and thinking about lemon bars for desert for both days. I will keep you posted if I pull this part off.

Recipes to follow if everything comes out well.

How about you???? What are you having for dinner???

Recipe/ French Baguettes

This is such an easy bread to make... you can't go wrong.
French Baguettes

Ingredients:

1 c water
2 1/2 c bread flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp bread machine yeast
1 egg yolk
1 tbsp water

Directions:

Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except egg yolk and 1 tsp water in bread machine pan in order of recommended by the manufacturer.

Select dough/manual cycle.

Place dough in greased bowl, turning to coat all sides. Cover and let rise in a warm place about 30 minutes or until double.

Grease cookie sheet. Punch down dough. Roll dough into rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Cut dough crosswise in half. Roll gently back and forth to taper ends.

Place on cookie sheet. Make 1/4 inch deep diagonal slashes across loaves every 2 inches or make one long one down the center of the loaf.

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix egg yolk and 1 tbsp water, brush over top of the loaf. Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
