Let's Touch This Family's Heart
I am putting out an emotional plea for the prayers and financial assistance for a sweet and dear friend and fellow homeschooling family.
My sweet and dear friend received the worst news any mother could possibly hear. Her precious daughter (age 9) was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. As soon as the family was informed a whirlwind of hospitalization, tests, procedures, questions and emotions spiraled out of control. Precious Amber was admitted to the hospital and will be there for 29 days as she undergoes tests, chemotherapy as well as other treatments. Not just the day before this precious Kiddo cried with her mom because she was afraid to have the blood work drawn because she hated the thought of the needle and within only a short 24 hour period she was diagnosed with Leukemia.
This family is a homeschooling family as I stated earlier and they live on one income as most of us do when we take on the adventure of homeschooling. After much discussion with her husband they reluctantly but prayerfully decided to seek help to meet the accumulating medical bills. It is my desire as her friend to help her try to meet the financial goal to assist in the ability to pay the bills as they have already began to come in. Their concern as a family should not be how are we going to pay these bills. It should be how can we comfort and encourage our daughter through this extremely difficult time.
We believe that no matter the size of the donation that God will help the family to use it for His good. We believe in the miracle that God will meet their financial needs as they go down this long and challenging journey.
If you can make a donation we say a HUGE Thank you, but if you are not but can assist us in passing this word around to your friends and family that too would be wonderful.
This is a difficult time of the year to have to deal with such an diagnosis, but it can also be a magical time of the year for blessings. Please consider helping this family fight the battle called Leukemia with their precious little girl.

Ronald McDonald House Fundraiser, Will You Join Us Too?
Our latest endeavor will require the help of you as well.
We are friends with a military family who has two special needs children of their four. The latest member of their family is a beautiful little 2 year old girl named Victoria (we call her Tori). Tori and her brother, Teddy, who is only 4 years old himself have severe disabilities. Tori has already had several surgeries in her short little life and had her last one as recently as this past Thursday, January 10, 2013. She is a strong and courageous little girl with a strong will to fight for all she has wrong with her. This latest surgery was to place a GI feeding tube in her so she could begin to gain weight again instead of continuously losing it. Due to the children's hospital being two hours one way from their house, they were able to use the Ronald McDonald House so the family could be close to her during her stay in the hospital. They were so impressed with their stay and the "special" accommodations they received while being there that they are going to start collecting pull tabs from soda cans, soup cans and chef boyardee cans. Anything that has a pull tab to open the can will be used to help The Ronald McDonald House collect money.
I am going to join her in collecting as many pop tabs as I can collect so she can turn them into her local RMH. If you would like to join us and need my address just click the email link to the right and I will give you my address. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated by this family.
Below is a break down of how the Ronald McDonald House uses this fundraiser to help their organization.
Will you prayerfully join me in helping this family show their Ronald McDonald House how much they appreciated their support.
Thank You!!! _____________________________________________________________________

Pop Tab Collections
Collecting pop tabs is a great way to teach kids about philanthropy and the importance of recycling, and raise funds to help children and their families at the same time. Some of our Chapters raise thousands of dollars with their pop tab collections.
Why?
Ronald McDonald Houses collect pop tabs instead of entire aluminum cans because it's more hygienic to store tabs than cans, and collection and storage is easier. The program is an easy way for people of all ages to support RMHC and know they are making a difference for families and children. How much?
After the tabs are collected, the local RMHC Chapter brings the collection to local recycling centers, where they are weighed to determine their value (values can vary significantly). The recycling center then sends the local RMHC Chapter a check for the total value.
